Why do American movie makers feel they need to use the "Blair Witch" cinematography tactics of shaky camera to make it feel like 'your in the action'? The movie about 911 (I think it was United Flight...) was bad, but at least I made it through that movie. This was the worst one I've ever tried to watch. I love the Bourne movies and was really dissapointed that I couldn't make it through this one. The camera rapidly zoomed in and out and moved side to side so quickly, my eyes couldn't focus fast enough. It was like a bad MTV video. I don't need glasses, I had eye surgery...remember? Even a scene where two people were sitting in a restaurant had the camera moving around in small circles. The back of my eyes hurt so much after 15minutes that I had to close them. I tried to watch more, but ended up breaking out in a cold sweat. I thought I was going to puke in my popcorn bag. Ended up leaving after 45 minutes. I can only justify that it must be less expense to film a movie with a camera on your shoulder then using cranes or other smooth methods. I never got sick watching 007 action movies. I would like to hear if you've noticed the same thing. Ultimatum took "Blair barf" to a whole new level. Hi Mike,

We went to the second movie on the first day because we liked Bourne 1 so much. This time, we are sitting out. I'll probably watch it when it comes to cable or Netflix/Blockbuster (and I don't have anything else to rent). Until then, I'm ordering the books and plan to enjoy the theater of the mind. And I do concede it's a matter of taste; I can totally understand someone not wanting to watch that kind of camerawork. I'll also admit the Bourne movies take that style of camerawork to the absolute extreme. It was done better and more accessibly in "Children of Men".
